The Train Hacker Recommends – Best Ways for Two People to Save
The Two Together Railcard is the number one way for two people to save on train fares. Both travellers get 1/3 OFF most journeys travelling together in Britain.
Disabled Persons Railcard holders can also travel in Britain with one other adult. Only people with certain medical conditions qualify for this card.
A Network Railcard will get money off for two adults in London and the South East. If you live and travel in this area, it’s a great deal.
Two adults also save with Family and Friends Railcards, but you must travel with at least one child.
If you often travel in pairs, it’s worth buying two Senior or 16-25 Railcards.
Duo train tickets are available for London airport – Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted – Express trains. Savings range from 15% to 35% OFF although you may be better off with Advance fares.
Northern Duo train tickets have more opportunities to save then Greater Anglia. Although both networks only give discounts on limited journeys.
Duo train tickets only benefit some people on selected networks and routes. Two people travelling together would be wiser to get one of the Railcards on offer.
